Jefferson is going to be an all-star, and is/will be just as good or better than Dwight Howard. Take him and Pierce, with Rondo at the point, maybe do something with some combination of Green, the #5, and the contracts of Ratliff and Telfair to land a solid veteran scorer and they'd be in just as good a shape. They could also trade down from the 5 and take Brewer a few picks later.

Adding KG would sell tickets and make the C's relevant again, but they'd be only marginally better than they were in the Pierce/Walker years (conference finals) and still wouldn't win a title.

If they don't do the deal at best they might turn into a playoff team and finals contender.If they do the deal they are a contender on day one so why not take the sure thing?Pierce's window is closing so you either trade him and go real young and let the team develop or you bring in another star to help him out before he falls apart.

You are slandering KG by comparing him to Walker.That team would be way better than the Walker years.

Here's me explaining to goat why the celtics should have traded for Garnett.Also the fact that I can't remember the first name of the jefferson guy goat compared to dwight howard leads me to believe that he is in fact not better then Dwight Howard.

Al Jefferson is an all-star (or would be if not injured?) but obviously not better than howard.

I underestimated the defensive value Garnett would add to the team. Drastically.

Assuming you can't do the deal without trading jefferson I still would do it because do you really think they can win the way they are?Pierce is getting older so you bring in another aging star, they have a good run and maybe get lucky a go to a finals.Thats not to bad.I don't see the youngsters on the Celts getting it together fast enough before Pierce gets to old and you need another star to compete.
