Cursed Domain Name
#1

original post is here

Quote:[b]free to good home: cursed domain name

One domain name (.com), which I took over as a favour from a guy who was being harassed by someone who has the same last name as the domain.

Mr Domain Name is infamous for the ... degree of attention he supplies to whoever owns the domain name - attention that is really no longer that much fun with me or my family.

If you take over this .com, he will - guaranteed! - phone you up at all times of day and night, track down your workplace and try and get you sacked, leave extended and fairly funny voicemail messages that you will have to spend minutes skipping to find your real voicemail, put up your name on British right-wing Websites claiming that you are part of some giant homosexual/British comedian/communist conspiracy to run the Internet, send you tortuously extended emails full of accusations which are cc:d to a fascinating collection of minor dignitaries and members of the press who will already be as confused and bored as you will soon become, and shout a lot.

(I should point out that this isn't just what happens to the owner of the cursed domain name. It happens to anyone that Mr Domain Name randomly selects as the target of his ... interest. Previous targets have included famous tech websites, educational establishments, and popular celebrity mailing lists.).

Optional: the ... interest of an almost equally wacko set of *anti-* Mr Domain Name activists on the Net, who will "help" you fight Mr Domain Name, even when you don't want to fight him, and would just rather it all went away.

Conditions of sale: you get domain name free (fully-paid up until 2007), as long as you promise not to:
a) give it to Mr Domain Name,
b ) give it to the Anti-Mr Domain Name activists,
c) take it all too seriously (for which, see Mr Domain Name and Anti-Mr Domain Name People),
d) live or intend to live, or have family in the UK. I think this may all be less fun under those conditions.
e) attempt to give it back to me

Would suit psychology students in search of thesis material, kind-hearted good listeners with strong boundaries, spammers needing large amounts of bayesian-defeating texts, experimental AI projects, international telcos looking for additional revenue and anyone who just likes chatting with loony fruitcake wacka-wacka brrr-doop "hello anyone *there*? HEL-LOOOOO?" nutters.
