Does anyone here actually follow all the sugestions they are throwing out about Earth day?
I do recycle newspaper, plastic and beer cans, but I'll be damned if I'm driving a Prius in my lifetime.

We should force China to get on board, thus destroying their economy and sending millions of displaced Chinese flooding into North America looking for work and women.
There's a marry your daughter link here somewhere isn't there? Perfect.

Forcing china to comply would be like trying to get America to comply during the industrial revolution. Its tough to get a country trying to modernize to listen to already modern countries who during their build up as a nation helped put us in the climate crisis we are in.All we can do is make sure that goods exported to the united states meet the standards that we set for those goods.

Thinking that China will comply is much like thinking that NAFTA is a benefit to the US.
China is currently leaving thousands of their own homeless just to host the Olympics. They will never give a shit about ecology, strictly economics.

In my opinion, no. Chinas population and their current practices outweigh the minimal progress we make. Their fuel consumption and energy usage is not regulated nearly as heavily as we are. Their pollution regulations are a joke.

Good point Dagger. Please disregard NAFTA and continue importing oodles and oodles of loosely regulated consumer goods from China. Thank God your leaders don't think like you.
Oh fuck, they do.

We spent the last 150 years polluting the earth while china had no major pollution of its own.I'd say whatever we do now is make up for the mess we created by inventing aerosal cans and old style air conditioning units.Just because China does it doesnt mean its right for us to do it.

Nafta is bad for certian industries like textiles. Those industries were destined to die eventually with the modernization of other countries.
