The Club Got A New Complaint About Me
#1

Two new eight year old boys arrive to particpate in my clinic of 6 or 7 kids. They were normal rambunctious kids, nothing out of the norm. It was their second tennis lesson ever, their first with me.

Big Fat Mom sat outside the court with her ugly face pressed up against the backdrop, watching. Nothing unusual happened. After the lesson she phoned my boss and said,

"I don't want my boys in Blondie's class ever again. She told the kids to SHUT UP and she called a six year old girl FAT."

I just stared at my boss looking like this:

I could never imagine doing either thing. It's amazing to me that people can make shit up out of whole cloth.

Tennis Racket + Fat Mum = One more complaint but satisfied Blondie.

It occurred to me that in the two and a half years I've been there, they've gotten three complaints about me. All three were patently untrue, and were from overbearing, overly aggressive parents who are producing monsters instead of well behaved children.

Like the fat pig of a mom even knew what a good lesson would be like anyway.

i got fired from my job and was told there had been many complaints
when i asked for one example, i was not given even one
i asked why i had never been warned or given a chance to tell my side of the story
they said they didn't need a reason to fire me and i should just get the hell out

nice folks

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

Snargie, don't they legally have to tell you why you were fired?

As for my job, when my boss came to tell me, she prefaced it by saying, "I know this isn't true, you'd never do this. I don't believe this mom and I want them to go away."

My job is not in jeopardy, thank god.

they said: "...due to not meeting work performance guidelines."
it is funny, too, cause i did a lot more than they asked me to do

I had a truck driver that worked for me several years ago. He was a total loser. He claimed his truck (my truck) was always broke down and there was some reason for him to be in the shop working on it. One thing after another. I told him several times that if he couldn't keep the truck running and producing income that I was going to have to let him go. Finally, I fired him one morning because he was sitting in the shop bullshitting with two of my mechanics.

A week or so later he filed for unemployment. I fought it, and provided months of documentation of how little he was driving the truck and how he spent all of his time in the shop pretending to be working on it. I showed them how much he had made in payroll and how little he was bringing in income. He admitted that I told him a week or so before he was fired that if he didn't make some changes to the hours he drove the truck, he was going to be fired.

Well, he won anyway. I appealed and I won, then he appealed the final time and he won.

It seems that it didn't matter what happened, or how good or bad he was at his job. What mattered was that I didn't "document" each time he was warned of unacceptable behavior. I did not give him "written ultimatums" saying that if specific things were not done he would be fired.

Basically, I didn't give him enough chance to find another job before I fired him. That's what they really want. They want an employee to have enough time and enough written big deal warnings that they just go find another job while they are still employed.

Then my unemployment insurance goes up and its "fuck the man" time again.

Oh, and the next driver I hired to drive the truck had no problems with it running okay. He made the truck very profitable immediately after he started driving.

my firing was "political" in that the bitch who fired me was mad at the person who hired me
she could not do anything else to "hurt" the man who hired me, so she got to him thru me
the fact that i organized the warehouse and inventoried for the first time made no difference
nor did the fact that i never missed work and did whatever i was asked to do
the fact is that i was never warned or given a chance to refute any "charges"

in the long term, i will be better off, but it was still a shock and very humiliating

It's a good thing that you don't have any kids coming to my clinics, then, Clayster.

Nobody ever complained about ntype's work. I once worked as an "intern" our local water/gaz/electricity company, they nicknamed me "Lucky Luke" (the man who works faster than his shadow)....
Another year at the same company they were all lucky because we put into the putter the water demands (it's needed for previsions and inventory purposes because you don't lay a water pipe in a night...) anyhow at the end of the month comment of the engineers of the team :

"those two lill' dudes made in one month the work of an engineer who would have taken 3 month for a quarter of his salary...rack !" (imagine two doodz mumbling)
