The 34-year old Fred Taylor is entering his second season with New England, though he is not considered a lock to earn a roster spot. He is 15th on the NFLâs all-time rushing list (11,540 yards), but the Patriots have two other players at his position who are over age 33, and if it comes down to a numbers game â Taylor cannot contribute on special teams â he may be the odd-man out.
Fantasy Impact:
Word from Patriots camp is that Laurence Maroney is the established "lead dog" in the backfield and is doing well.

(Rotoworld) ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss speculates that Fred Taylor could get anywhere from 10-to-15 carries per game as part of the Patriots' committee attack this season.
Analysis: That's seems just a bit on the optimistic side. Taylor cleared 11 carries just once in six games last year, and he's another year closer to the end. He may still be the favorite to start games, but his carries will likely end up in the 8-to-10 range.
