Yeah, beyond awkward.

Did you see the interview he did last night with that strange guy. The guy basically told Fallon that he didn't have any balls and you could almost hear crickets chirping in the room. Fallon had no come back at all.

And the way he tries to over laugh at any joke his guests tell? Its just all so strange to watch.

think about how much money they were offered, plus ?uestlove is a personality now. every bands dream is to be someone's house band at some point and time. its a dream job.

I don't remember what happened on the show last night, but Fallon attempted to make a lame joke, and then turned to some black guy in Roots with a big afro for "what do you think about that?" kind of reaction. The guy stood there and looked at him like he was a bouncer in a strip club. No smile, no nod, nothing.

Fallon just looked back at the audience like, "Okay then...."

i'm really not sure where this can go. i kind of thought about this move for the Roots and if they ever are going to tour in the future. what does Jimmy Fallon do for a band? i really don't see him hosting for very long anyway.

Its good for the Roots overall profile.Some dick in Nebraska who never heard of them might get turned on to them via the Fallon show.Thats not really that hardcore though musically.

I've seen where Max Weinberg was on tour with Bruce Springsteen and they replaced him with the trumpet player or something.The roots are getting 40 seconds of face time a day on late night TV.Its better then not being on tv I guess.

So how did NBC convince the prolific road warriors to settle down on one stage? Incentives like spending more time with their families and rehearsals on NBCâs tab definitely helped, as did the increased pay for the decreased workload. âIf you total up the seconds we appear on TV, weâre on camera for 640 to 800-something seconds a week,â ?uestlove says. âThatâs the equivalent of 10 nights on the road. Our manager would not let us take this gig if it didnât match or surpass what we get on the road.
