I'm back from my trip so this place is relevant again.
I'm a slap hitter which also describes my love making style so I don't really get jacked up over which bat I'm using.For me its all aboot weight.I like it light for more control.I can tell you that I've got a guy on my team that swings the Miken and he's the best home run hitter I've ever seen playing softball.I'm more particular about gloves.I will only use Mizuno's.
We are 1-2 after getting railroaded in our double header last week.We gave the first game away with errors and the second team was better at hitting.We had 24 runs scored on us combined during the double header and only 4 were earned.I had 1 error and I'm only batting in the 400's so I need to pick it up.

Last week we were short 5 players due to weddings and other vagina related issues so we had to get some subs and they ended up sucking.I'm a lefty but I was forced to play short stop because I was the best fielder left.Nothing like getting out of the car stoned out of your mind and learning that the game is about to start and you are playing a position that you are not comfortable at.I handled it admirably and had no errors but the rest of our fielding sucked.I went 1 for 2 with two walks with 3 runs scored.I just figured out the league does a game recap on their website which is pretty sweet.
Game 1: Crackers vs. Irish Car Bombs
The first inning for the Crackers saw eight runs score as Rich Beck got a single, Alex Lilly got on from an error, Glen Hipple and Paul Harding would single, Fran Benson got a double, Pam Myers would single, Dan Bennett got on from another error and Mike Richardson would hit a homerun. Irish Car Bombs were able to get three runs from back-to-back walks for BIRD33 and J.L. while Neil H. singled and Mike F. hit a double.
Second inning the Crackers would get another run, once again from an error. Glen Hipple would get a single, continuing his perfect season! ICB went down 1,2,3!
Third inning for the Crackers would get them four runs. Fran Benson and Mike Richardson would double as singles came from Dan Bennett, Rick Berish, Dawn Doyle and Janet Vincent. Bottom of third saw ICB go down 1,2,3â¦again! So at the end of three, the score is Crackers 13 and Irish Car Bombs 3.
Fourth inning for the Crackers was 1,2,3 including the ending to Glen Hippleâs perfect season as he just couldnât beat out the throw to first base as the ball dribbled back to the pitcher! ICB must have been feeling the joy of ending the perfect season for Glen as they got five runs on the board as J L. walked, Neil H. singled, Steve G. took advantage of an error as did Wayne W. and Chrissy M. showed her power and speed with a triple!
Fifth inning for the Crackers produced three runs with singles from Fran B, Joanne Bechtel and Rick and a double from Mike R, his second of the game. ICB were able to get three runs from a lead off walk from Deb D.(sub) and singles from Sherri King (sub), BIRD33 and Mike F.
Sixth inning for the Crackers got two runs as Glen H and Paul Harding crossed the plate after Glen got a single and Paul was able to get on base from an error. Fran B and Dan B would both single. ICB got a single from Wayne W and a walk from Chrissy M but no runs.
Seventh inning for the Crackers was only the second inning in which they didnât score. They went down 1,2,3. ICB would try to rally with a lead off single from Sherri K (sub), a walk from BIRD33, a single from Jim L. and a two run single from Mike F. but that wasnât enough.
Final Score: Crackers 18 â Irish Car Bombs 13
Double header this week and since we are 1-3 we need one win this weekend or we are out of the playoffs.

You need to stop walking. I bought a Miken Recoil balanced. I have yet to use it and it is supposed to snow this weekend so ball is likely out. I also got new cleats that were on sale for $40 because last week the fields were still a bit wet and this broad pops one out to centre field, an easy jog back to catch for the out, but I started to run and fell right on my butt. She turned a pop-out into a triple and I looked foolish, hence the cleat purchase. I went 3 for 4 with one ball just missing going over the fence. We won 28-15.

Lead off hitters walk.It demoralises the pitcher right off the bat.I love standing up there and grinding out a walk and having the pitcher pissed off.My team has few power hitters so my job is to get on base however and use my speed.I lead my team in runs scored and bat over .500 every year.I like to think of myself as a complete player.
Got to have cleats.You are 10 x's faster with them on the base paths.Did you tell the shoe salesmen you needs cleats to help keep women from abusing you at softball?
High 60's and sunny this weekend so we will be playing.One problem is my team is full of potheads and this sunday is 4\20 so three quarters of our lineup will be getting stoned between games.I play fine high but the rest of the team is suspect.

Interesting take on walking. I like the demoralizing factor. I may try this as I am our teams leadoff batter. In our league that would anger the entire other team as it is widely accepted that it is a hitting league.

I like starting out the game looking at the first two pitches while pretending I'm ready to swing the bat and then if he throws two balls in a row I take the next pitch standing way off the plate with the bat never leaving my shoulder.At that point he's ready to kill me and off his game.If he walks me he is infuriated, taken completly out of rhythm and its hilarious.
I'm in pretty much a hitters league too and some teams do have a problem with it but fuck them, I've got a guy who hits a homer or at least a double every time two spots after me so I'm always scoring.

We lost both games of our double header.Our fielding is beyond bad.I had two errors and our outfield had at least 7 or 8.We moved up a division this year so we are finding it hard to adjust.We are in every game but make to many errors to win it.
First game 2 for 4, with two singles,one run scored.
Second game 2 for 4,one single,one double stretched into a triple by superior speed,one run scored and one rbi.
Team record 1-5.I bet a teammate $20 after the first game we wouldnt win 3.

Sorry to hear about the losses. Do you think your betting against the team might get you labelled a "cancer in the clubhouse"?

I've already been labeled the Terrell Owens of my team because I call it like I see it.My honest assesment of our weaknesses has helped us by not kidding ourselves about people being able to play certain positions.I produce so everyone can fuck themselves.
We are having an unsually warm April.When I was golfing the other day it was 75 and it was odd because there were no leaves on the trees yet.
Our manager didnt show up to the games yesterday because in the words of his roomate who's on the team "He's fighting not to shit his pants right now."

Beat the shit out of the worst team in the league 18-7.Leading off the game I hit a sharp ball to the 3rd baseman because he looked like a spaz.It rained the night before so when I tried to motor out of the box I lost traction and made it about 3 feet before falling on my face and scraping my knee's.My suspicion about the 3rd baseman being a spaz was proved correct as he threw the ball 10 feet over first base.Scored on a double.Next at bat I walked.3rd at bat I hit into a fielders choice.4th at bat in the 7th inning I jacked my first dinger of the year(in a non gay way).Just roped a ball up the 3rd base line.My average is back up to .500.Worst part of the game was when a guy popped a ball up behind me at second and I run out there to get it and I absolutly plow over this girl playing right field who didnt pay attention to me when I called it.She was on the ground for 5 minutes.
Last game of the year is this Sunday, we a 2-5 and probably don't have a shot at the playoffs.I need us to lose to collect on my $20 bet.

Got beat 12-4.Our fielding other than me sucked.I had a double play and a couple really nice stabs.Went 0-1 at the plate with 2 walks and a fly out.That will drop my average into the mid 400's for the season.Not great but I lead the league in walks and my team in runs.We didnt make the playoffs and I won the $20 bet for us not winning 3 games.I spent it on beer for the team because I'm classy like that.
Jimmy have you guys even played a game yet?
