How is that anywhere near as bad stealing plays from the other team?At least the guy got a suspension for some games.I'd say him still making the pro bowl and Belichek not getting a suspension are pretty close.They must be pumping denial into the Boston water system.

Him being tainted is a byproduct of his own actions not a league punishment.You know the team is going to be paying his fine so basically they are losing the 30th pick over this and thats it.Thats pure bullshit.

I repeat, Merriman actually got suspended from games which actually hurt his team on the field.Thats a lot worse.

How exactly did Merriman's suspension hurt the team on the field? They went 14-2, were the top seed in the AFC, and won all 4 games he missed.

You were bitching yesterday about Brady getting a free pass. Were you not talking about his public image and the media leaving him alone? Or did you think he should be suspended for fathering an illegitimate child? You were talking about his untarnished image. I'm saying that Belichick's is certainly tarninshed, and rightfully so. But in a day and age where tons of pro athletes are getting skewered for 'roiding, Merriman's image is in terrific shape. I don't care that he played in the actual game, gimme a break. All the pro bowl is anymore is recognition. Merriman was recognized as being an all-pro in a season where he was busted for taking illegal substances.

I don't even care about Merriman per se, I'm just saying that there are all sorts of athletes out there getting free passes in the public eye.

I said Brady got a free pass in response to Bill Simmons and other Pat's apologist saying that all the negative reaction over this cheating scandal is overkill and just people loving to hate the Pat's.The Pat's have gotten nothing but good press up until this.That simmons article was a disgrace.

Who cares about the Pro Bowl?At least the guy served A suspension.Think the Chargers would have paid 500 g's to have him not be suspended?Who cares about Merriman anyway?Belicheks crime is ten times worse.You're all caught up in the recognition and sullying of reputations and all most sports fans care about is the game being fair which it wasnt.
