Congrats on Zambrano, that's gonna be a fantastic contract in 4 years.

He had to be paid.

Paddy! - Anhil8tor - 08-17-2007

I think he may be the most over rated pitcher in the history of MLB.

Do Chicagoans really think he is worth it?

Paddy! - Anhil8tor - 09-04-2007

how long is he signed for?

Paddy! - BIRD33 - 09-04-2007

Goodnight, Phillies.

Yeah, less than a week after they looked like the heir apparent for at least a wildcard. They're still in the mix.

Its the same old phillies.Manuel saved his job most likely and they faded away with less than 20 to go.I had some hope for some reason when they swept the mets.Stupid me.

Paddy! - Dr. Lecter - 09-04-2007

One thing I noticed, while a bit partial, was that it seemed the Phils got so many of the little breaks that can win or lose a game, during that series. I felt that the Mets' breaks may come after that series, which they did.
Bird, what one or two players do you think makes the Phils offense move, without whom their offense is lehargic? To me it's Utley. Burrell can bang a few tape measure homers, but I don't ever recall him being clutch like Utley.

To me it's Rollins and Utley.Rollins is the most untalked about for a lack of a better word superstar in the league. He has carried the Phil's many a game.Utley is a stud and is so clutch it's sick.He never seems fazed by anything.Burrell is having a great year but I think thats because he's not the focal point of the team now that we have Utley, Howard and Rollins.Back when we first signed Burrell to that huge deal years back he struggled because he was annointed the man on the team and thats pressure I don't think he can handle.

Watch the Cubs this month guys. Their collapse will be nothing less than spectacular.

Paddy! - WoolyGoat - 09-05-2007

How much cash is Pedro pulling in per start this year? He might make more than Clemens.

He's no Clay Buchholz.

Paddy! - BIRD33 - 09-06-2007

Thanks for coming out, Brett Myers.

Paddy! - WoolyGoat - 09-06-2007

What a heartbreaker that game was.

Paddy! - BIRD33 - 09-06-2007

Its typical Phillies bullshit.
