Sorry Lebron - Anhil8tor - 06-11-2007

Maybe next year

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-11-2007

He's got no supporting cast. He's so young he'll have many chances to win it.

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-11-2007

Oh and Tony Parker will be the MVP of the finals and is 10 times better than Billups.

If clay still came around I'd like to read his argument.

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-11-2007

Its not even up for debate anymore.Billups cost himself millions of dollars by playing like crap this year going into being a free agent.

Sorry Lebron - Anhil8tor - 06-11-2007

I still miss the dynasty talk...

the rasheed will be different talk...

darko will work out... er.. he won't

it dosen't matter we passed on Melo and whomever else worked out....

we didn't need larry brown...

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-11-2007

How about passing over Dwayne Wade for Darko?Dumars fucked that up bigtime.Rasheed is out of D-town.You can tell he doesnt even want to be there. The one championship dynasty is over.

Heard this rumor over the weekend:

Shawn Marion and #24 to Boston for Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair (or similar contract), and the #5

I hope Phoenix needs to dump salary this badly.

That would be nice. Fucking boston can't catch a break and it seems they are moving backwards.

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-11-2007

Why would Phoenix do that? They are on the verge of winning a championship and they trade a main component of their team for the # 5 pick a broke down center and a guy who'll be Nash's backup? The 5 pick is supposed to be Yoakim Noah.thats a horrible deal.

Sorry Lebron - WoolyGoat - 06-13-2007

They want to cut payroll, dude...you should know that. And they're not trading for a "broke down center and a backup pg," they're trading for two expiring contracts.

Sorry Lebron - BIRD33 - 06-13-2007

Who wants to cut payroll? The Suns?I havent heard that and don't get it.

I'm not surprised.

This is from espn.com's rumor central.

Shawn Marion
Suns

Celtics?
Bulls?
Timberwolves?
Marion On The Block?
Jun 13 - For the first time in three years, there appears to be more-than-casual trade talk involving Shawn Marion. That said, Marion appears likely to stay. The same cannot be said about Kurt Thomas, who appears to be the focus of the Suns' attempt to shave payroll.

"I don't think Shawn is going anywhere," coach Mike D'Antoni said.

The Suns also have been trying to deal backup guard Marcus Banks since February's trade deadline.

But a deal is unlikely, league sources said, unless the Suns are willing to give up multiple first-round draft picks. Banks is owed about $17.2 million over the next four seasons. -- East Valley Tribune

Explain to me why they bring in steve kerr as GM after they gave San An the only real series this playoffs if they are cutting payroll?Just because you have an espn insider account doesnt mean its gospel. They are trying to lose thomas because he's overpaid and overrated not because they are trying to cut payroll, same with banks. No matter who they trade with the salaries between traded players have to be balanced so how are they going to lower payroll by trading? They are trying to upgrade their talent for what they have to pay for it.Do you get it now?

Snarg can't deal with me being sooooo right.

I kinda think thats why clay quit. The getting fired was just a cover up.

I agree, but you're only right about it not making sense with the Celtics, unless they can get Ratliff to retire.

Paul (Auburn NY):
What are your thoughts on the trade rumors involing Shawn Marion to the Celtics for the fifth pick, theo ratliff and one of the guards?

[Image: sn2.gif] Bill Simmons: I don't think it makes any sense for Phoenix. if they trade Marion or Stoudemire, the goal would be to get under the tax. Well, how does Ratliff's contract help? Yeah, it expires next summer, but it still counts on the cap this year... and he's adamant that he's not retiring. So that trade makes no sense. If they deal Marion, it has to be to a team under the cap that can absorb most/all of his contract, like Atlanta or Charlotte. For instance, if Atlanta offered the No. 11 pick, Josh Childress and Marvin Williams, that could work.

Sorry Lebron - Anhil8tor - 06-13-2007

I think phoenix will give it one more run with their guys..

they have to.
