You know, spayed.
A good friend of mine once took a perfectly healthy and lovely collie in for spaying and the vet gave it too much of the anesthetic and killed it.
Am I wrong to be nervous? I love that lil doggy.

If it dies, replace it with something bigger, like a hamster.

Wierd name for a twat. I guess it's an adjective to describe it.
Aren't you too old to have kids already anyway?

IIRC, Collies are particulaly sensitive to teh gas anesthesia, as are dogs with very little body fat (i.e., sight hounds).
Thanks for being a responsible pet owner.

No, I just want a pet, not a breeding dog. The vet gave me some pain pills to give her but they are really big. Now how'm I gonna force those down her throat? She won't eat anything. I can tell she feels like shit.

Stick the pill in Peanut butter, then feed it to her. Gone in one bite.

Vets are schooled for 4 years, the last of which is mostly clinical work. The trick to vet school is getting in. There is only one vet school in Texas and they only allow about 100 a year to enroll.
A good friend of mine went to vet school. He said a professor gave him the best advice one day. He said it has saved him countless hours of worrying and is basically vet school boiled down to one comment.
"90% of all animals will get well regardless of what you do to treat them. 5% of the others are going to die regardless of what you do to treat them. So there's only 5% of the ones you treat that you have a fucking thing to do with their outcome."

I just snapped this pic this minute. Maybe the meds were too much for her. Is she dead?
