So I bounced off the pavement this weekend -

Once a month, my sister organizes this bicycle ride/cookout for her coworkers and friends. I usually skip out because they are very easy rides aimed at beginners, but this Saturday I decided to join in. Anyway, we were riding on a level, paved trail and I was up front with another experienced rider, doing about 15 mph. Thirsty, I took my hands off the handbars, sat up and took a drink, still talking to the guy and not paying much attention to what I was doing. Right about that time, my front wheel ran off the shoulder of the pavement and I slammed onto the ground. My feet stayed locked in the pedals, so nothing broke my fall. The people behind me said I actually bounced off the pavement when I hit.
I guess those Flintsone vitamins as I child paid off, because I landed on my shoulder and my collarbone survived, but I feel like I was gang raped. Sweet. ><

Nice strawberry and bruise on my shoulder, skinned the top of my arm from my elbow to my knuckles, skinned my knee pretty good.
And I broke my drool cup.
The training wheels are going back on this afternoon.

That fucking hurts. I did the same last summer. I was riding behind my brother-in-law and it was raining a bit. He went over some railroad tracks and yelled "tracks!" I said , "what?" and before the "T" sound came out my bike flipped over and pile drived me into the pavement. I had a bruise all along my left side and elbow and road rash.
Now for my idiot moment. I went into the kitchen of the place we were renting and slipped on the tile floor and went down again. That was harder to live down.
