Construction question.

When pouring a 12x24 continueous ftg with 2 #4 bars w/ 3000lb/psi conc. What o/c spacing should your bar chairs be? I'm thinking it's just as needed to keep the bars level or is there some percriptive distance?

Not sure what you mean by the measurements (12x24) Is it 12" deep and 24" wide and continuous?

Either way, there is no prescriptive distance required for the chairs other than to adequately support the steel in the desired location. For a #4 bar, you would probably figure that the chairs would be spaced 3.5 to 4 feet apart.

you are correct on all counts and I was planning (bought enough chairs) for a 4'-0" o/c spacing.

Thanks.
