The flexor hallucis longus is the muscle that flexes the big toe and helps supinate (roll the foot to the outer edge) the ankle.
The flexor hallucis brevis flexes the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe and provides support to the medial longitudinal arch.
The peroneus longus everts the foot and plantar flexes the ankle. It also helps to support the transverse arch of the foot.

The tibialis anterior is a dorsiflexor of the ankle and inverter of the foot.
The flexor digitorum longus flexes toes 2-5 and helps in plantar flexation of the ankle.
(See Tom, Dick, & Harry picture)
The flexor digitorum brevis flexes toes 2-5 and helps in medial and lateral longitudinal arches.
Summary: A person with these types of injury has a fucked up foot.
