Runaway Bride negotiating for movie deal - Dr. Lecter - 06-16-2005
ATLANTA - Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks made a deal with a company that is pitching a television movie about her life â annoying officials who spent thousands of dollars searching for her.
ReganMedia has acquired all media rights to the "life stories" of Wilbanks and her fiance, John Mason, the New York multimedia company said Thursday.
The company did not say whether any money had changed hands.
"I am looking forward to developing the scripted project with Wilbanks and Mason," company President Judith Regan said in a statement. "Theirs is an unexpected and compelling story of love and forgiveness that has certainly taught me a thing or two."

nice story, if everything fails and even foreign legion doesn't wants you; try to do something REALLY but REALLY stupid, with a little bit of luck some media company will buy the rights about your life.
Now wondering they boughts "all media rights" means that if she tells something to her best friend then this said best friend post it on a forum or talks it publicy it's a proven case of stealing intellectual property out of his legitimate owner (that isn't anymore your friend but the media company).

The only redeeming thing I read is that of the $43,000 that was spent searching for her by local authorities, she has already paid over $13,000 back.
