I don't mind people who don't want to swear, but at some point it becomes just downright stupid. There's a guy in my office who will say "poopy" instead of "shit". Now, apart from the fact that a grown man sounds like a fucking idiot saying "poopy" what gets me is the intent is the same. So you didn't say an actual "swear word" but in your head you meant a swear word.
Its like me not wanting to murder someone, so I hire someone to do it for me. Ok, I didn't do the bad thing, but when you get down to it I am just as guilty.
And this same guy (he's a dork) will exclaim "your momma!" when playing basketball or foosball. To me, "your momma!" is much worse than the guys just yelling out a generic "fuck!" So in his effort to be "better" than us, he is actually being more offensive.

I wasn't picking on fem. Her use of heck did remind me about this, and hell really isn't a word I would consider a swear word, but to each their own.

He has kids, so I can understand why he would want to not swear, cause kids don't know when not to swear. But the intent is the same, and he is still teaching his kids to use interjections at those times, and as soon as they learn the word shit, they'll use it instead of poopy. Kids don't want to talk like kids when they can sound like a grownup. If you don't want your kids swearing, don't swear around them. Simple. Don't try to reduce swearing to a 2nd grade language.
