The Christmas Time Blues. - Beaucephus - 12-20-2004

I have often heard of them, never had them until this year. I haven't been on too much over the past week. As many of you know me and the wife were expecting a baby sometime next July. Well over the past week she miscarried. It didn't really hit me that hard, but it has really brought her down, thus bringing me down with her. Not to mention the fact we have dropped damn near 3 grand on gifts for the kids and family. This with all the stress of how we are going to get to 4 different places over the span of three days this coming weekend (I didn't take any vacation), has definitely got me down in the dumps. Anybody else ever get them????? Sad:|

Dood, I'm not sure what to say, I'm sorry for the loss. I'm not sure If I'd be right either, under those conditions, no matter what time of year it was.

I lost my dad Dec, 27th, and it took me along time to find the christmas spirit again. It comes and goes still, but my own growing family has helped more than anything anybody could have said or done. We all deal with it in our own way, just gotta find what's gonna work for you. It's not exact science either, so your not gonna wake up tomarrow to find out ya both feel all better. Remember there's alot of folks out here, that would lend an ear if ya need.

Holday's are stressful, and i'm sorry for your loss. Hold your wife and love her, she needs you to be strong. You have to be Santa for the others! Take care and hang in there!

I guess the expectations of the holidays as a time of happiness makes us miss those we've lost even more, especially those we never got to meet.

Peace to you Beau!

Big Love Brotha!

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I am sure once we see the kids opening their gifts from Santa Christmas morning all will be better at least for that day.

Bill, Like the name change but the new avatar will take some getting used to. Wink. Thanks for the sentiments though. 4 years ago my grandmother died about a week before Christmas but it really didn't have the profound effect on me like this year though.

As most,I don't know what to say.Death of a loved one is always hard.At this time of year, even harder. As for the loss of one who had yet to taste life,I am at even more of a loss for words. My thoughts are with ya,fella.

Beau,

I have been there myself. I like to think it was for the best, but that does little to assuage the pain. God bless.

Who are you talking about?
How did you feel about that?I am a Christian.

Sassy, you're not helping.

Best wishes to you, Beau...

The Christmas Time Blues. - Banana - 12-20-2004

Damn Beau, that's just downright sad. I'm so sorry. The only advice I can give is to grieve now, but try not to let it ruin your Christmas, but more importantly, try not to connect the miscarriage with future Christmases. I know that is easier said than done, but you don't want to connect a sad time of your life to a time of the year that is supposed to be happy.

Trust me - I know from experience - both sides of my family essentially "cancel" Christmas because they can't handle the idea of celebrating when they think of everything they have lost. My dad's side of the family celebrated last Saturday just to avoid it. It doesn't work, it just makes you feel worse.

Best wishes and I hope you and your family have a good (as good as can be expected) holiday season.

Sorry for the loss man. Best I can tell you is to remember to appreciate what you have. I hope everything is better soon.

Hey they do say Christmas time is the top time of the year for people to die because of stress and heart attacks. My great uncle commited suicide about 4 years ago around this time.

The Christmas Time Blues. - Beaucephus - 12-21-2004

Many thanks to all of you guys for the well wishes and condolences. Merry Christmas to you all. Smile
