I don't know about that. Most golfers hit their peak in their mid 30's. I think its less then 10.

Well, I know that Tom Morris, Jr won 4 British Opens before he was 25, he won his first at 17. Then won like the next 3 in a row.

We also know that Tiger and Nicklaus did it. So that's at least 3.

Palmer did not do it.

Bobby Jones did it (he won 4). So that's at least 4

Hogan didn't do it. Neither did Tommy Armour.

Walter Hagen did it (he won 1). So that's at least 5

Gene Sarazen did it (he won 3). So that's at least 6

Peter Thomson did it (he won 1). So that's at least 7

Gary Player did it (he won 1). So that's at least 8

Palmer didn't win his first until he was 30.

Tony Jacklin did it (he won 1). So that's at least 9

Trevino didn't do it. Watson was 26. Jonny Miller was 26.

Seve Ballesteros did it (he had 2). So that's at least 10.

John Daly did it (he had 1). So that's at least 11.

I could go on, but this is going one by one through names that won the british open. this would take forever, but if your bet was less than 10 you lose. Probably big.

Willie Anderson did it (he won 2), both US Opens 1901 and 1903. So that's at least 14.

Bird, your theory applies pretty good to modern day golfers. Not many win one before 25. But back in the old days, it was much more common. That's where you're gonna lose the bet.

has fem been around at all?

There were 7 masters winners 25 or under.
There were 5 PGA winners 25 or under.
Add to that the ones you have above. Looks like Flump already did the work for the British and US opens

This is the setup pitch right here. He'll ask what sports you are involved in, then later on he'll bury you for comparing your involvement in sports to his.

Can't hit it.... can't lay off. Unbeatable.

As soon as I saw Young Tom Morris's name I new I was fucked.Todays golf is way different than 100 years ago.Tiger and Daly look like the only ones to do it in the last 20 years and Daly was kind of a fluke.

And Justin Leonard.

I also noticed that it seems there are a ton more under 26 year olds that won the British than the US Open. Not sure the relevance of that.

Its a more wide open touney depending on the course. You won't see Jean Van Develde in contention for the Masters.
