When you google the answer to a question like this, how do you decide which link to click on? Do you look for the one that supports your argument or do you read all 5000 pages of links to decide which one makes the most sense?
Answer me these questions:
How many years, on average, does a person stay in prison who is serving "Life without Parole" (the alternative to killing them).
What, specifically, would make a trial of a person where the state is seeking the death penalty in lieu of Life without Parole(LWOP), and how much would that cost be?
Do people that are in jail on LWOP not appeal their cases?

It was just one of the links on the first page that I pulled up and it had quoted some facts from some site like the ones that you have posted. cratch: Homeless people came in here because I posted about how I took a course on Social Deviance and Control. We actually had a panel of homeless people come in and tell us they committed crimes specifically to get INTO jail.
And, it depends on the jail (as to how they are treated). A lot of times, if the prison admin. thinks the guy is going to get raped and beaten, they will guard him. This takes places much more now since Dahmer.

I totally believe what you're saying but in relation to this discussion the homeless people would have commit crimes to get on death row to be relevant.I'm sure prison is appealing to some people.
If the guards don't like a guy he's fucked.Literally.House of corrections in Philly there isnt enough room for people who want protective custody so you literally have to be bat shit crazy to get it.If you're not high profile enough or the guards simply don't give a shit you are stuck in general population where its 30 prisoners to one guard all the time.
