No I think that was a bullshit reason to go anyway. We said he was violating UN treaties and then we go ahead and go against the same UN to go fight him?If you want to act like we had to protect ourselves from rouge nations with nukes then I say two words, North Korea. You said it already in this thread, it was about the oil but people don't like to lose family members and friends when they werent told the real reasons for the war.

You have to be careful how you say "it was about the oil". Most people think that we did it to get their oil. That we went over there to take their oil. That's not it at all. It didn't have anything to do with their oil except for the fact that the oil was what Saddam was using to spend so much on weapons and terror.
Fuck, he was paying families to have their kids be suicide bombers in Israel. He did that openly. No fucking telling what all he was funding with the money he took from the oil industry there.

I know its a tough one but whenever you're ready.

We've been in the business of making sure what style of government countries have for years. We do it because we've learned that certain styles of governments, especially when certain types of people take power, can be detrimental to everyone, including us. Take Nicaragua for example. Or Honduras. Or Lebanon. Or Israel. Or Germany. Surely you can name a few. There are probably hundreds.
And if you don't remember the Iraqi's asking us to help them, then you are too stupid to be making any points on this subject. Who do you think was supplying us with most of the information about what Saddam was doing in Iraq? Ever heard of Ahmed Chalabi, Sharif Ali bin al-Hussein, Iyad Allawi, or probably any of the 5,000,000 Kurds in the country.
We went there to get rid of any WMD's that he hadn't already gotten rid of and wouldn't allow inspectors in to see if he had or had not. That was one of the reasons. But, I know its the only one that you like to point out because you think it proves your "I'm Such a Huge Pussy that I'm Visible From Space" theory. Keep beating that one drum. The fucktards that don't know what is going on like simple answers.
We went into Iraq to get rid of Saddam and to put in a Democratic government. Plain and simple. Saddam had used WMD's numerous times and he would not let the UN monitors in to see if he had complied with destroying them. That has always been the case. Nothing has changed. If he destroyed them before we went to war, then he's a complete idiot for not just letting someone in to prove it. If he destroyed them after we declared war, then we accomplished something. Who knows what he did.
I also like how you thumb sucking liberals like to point out the "Mission Accomplished" photo. You can't even be grown up enough to realize that banner was hung on a battle ship returning from its mission. Which was a success and was "accomplished". It wasn't meant as Bush standing up and declaring victory in the war. He was welcoming those troops home and congratulating them on their mission. Everyone knew that. But, the media knew that the small minded pied pipers would line up and follow behind the idea that Bush thought the war was over. Its a stupid concept, but I like how you keep using it. It makes you look dumber than I thought.
My hope is that 20 years from now, a daughter can talk about how proud she was of her father that he had a part in creating peace in a war torn part of the world that has now spread beyond the borders of Iraq. That is exactly what I hope for.
If you had your way, 20 years from now a daughter could look at her father and say, "Dad why didn't you guys do something about these lunatics before they got out of control."

If I'm so racist, then why would I be in favor of liberating those people over there? I think that it is best for them, best for the region, and ultimately best for us. Once you start a job, you have to finish it.
People that are running around now pointing fingers and playing the "told you so" bullshit are hurting our troops and our cause more than anything else. The real cowardess that you show is that you'd rather be right than do the right thing.
So far we've broken over 4,300 american eggs for that shit pile Iraq.

I read today that on June 2nd Obama sent 7,000 marines to Afghanistan. Is sending the same as taking them out?

You get that they are two different countries right?
You also get that Afghanistan is where Bin Laden planned 9\11, right?
Not sure how you can't see the difference but I'm guessing you do but can't help but play the american hard ass.
