So you dont really follow the NBA but this argument is a way to stay close to me.Got it.

What about Danny Manning? :lool:

Say what you want about Ricky or Wally, but Pierce has been playing alongside a 20pt scorer for the whole season. He rebounds, passes, gets to the line 10 times a game. He hasn't always been a great leader, but I don't see how you can look at his stats (even over his whole career) and say he's not a great player.

You mean Assistant Head Coach Danny Manning?

That's what we'll call JJ Reddick's career, he went Danny Manning after college.

I like this quote from Pat Forde:

Quote:And only a robot could fail to feel empathy for Sutton, a brilliant coach but highly fallible human, in this time of personal crisis.

He's making excuses for his alcoholism.I had no opinon on sutton either way before this.I know he's a good coach and I hear he's a nice guy but I don't care.He ended his career as a drunk.

Its a disease. You and I can't put ourselves in his shoes. His whole career will be assosciate with drinking, recruiting scandals, etc. Doesn't change the fact that this is a sad day.

For you. He's just a drunk basketball coach to 90% of americans.Nobody gave eustacy the disease pass when he was run out of coaching.I feel bad for any human that hits hard times but not as much when they brought it on themselves with drugs and drinking.

Agreed. At one time in their life they made the decision to keep it going.

so you're saying a 69 year old man isn't experiencing chronic back and hip pains so severe pain meds don't help? i don't agree with the desicions he's made, but its sad when a coaching great's career comes to and end like this.

Thoughts on Eddie Sutton? - cLaY - 02-16-2006

oh, and larry was chasing tail...completely different scenario

The alcohol may have added to this over the years.

Alcoholics lie.Who knows how long he was off the wagon.Who knows if it truly was the pain or his desire to drink that got him into trouble. If you believe that the first alcohol he's had since betty ford is that bottle he bought prior to swerving over the yellow line and hitting someone you are fucking gullible.Sure its sad but I dont feel to sorry for him, he had everything and blew it.
