Did you notice all the new number series that are coming up now? The bidder number during the auction, the price paid for that book, the numbers Desmond had to give to the Dr. at Oxford, etc? There are lots of repeats.

I don't know if that's got to do with the baby stuff.

It's pretty obvious that Jack has some remorse about how he left the island...I'm sure there was some controversy/deception/cover-up with how Aaron was chosen for rescue, and Jack just has some serious problems with it.

Hmm.... hadn't thought about that. Maybe Clair and the baby are coming with the rescue and something goes wrong. Jack has to choose between saving Clair and the baby. Jack fucks up somehow and Claire dies. To cover up the story Kate takes the baby as hers and concocts the story to keep Jack out of hot water. Jack pays her back by lying in court.
