These in my mind are the only teams that should remain.You'd have a major market in the finals every year almost and the talent level would be so much more even.As for getting rid of teams in first place,oh well.This is about saving a dying sport not making sure retirees have something to do.

Jimmy I'm an American and I'm not jaded by hockeys history so Jaques Lemaire is someone Ive never heard of.The teams I listed are there purely because they make geographical and economic sense.
I love the regional put downs going on in the great white north.Does "Winterpeg" mean that they get 30 feet of snow instead of 25 feet of snow a year?

It's just cold all winter long. Here in Calgary we get breaks when the chinook winds blow from the mountains. IT can be -20 celsius when you go to bed and 5 above when you get up. Makes living here tolerable. I don't know how they do it in Winnepeg. Must be why populations in prairie Canada have been stagnant for so long. You can only hack it for so long before you go cuckoo.
And Jaques Lame-air instituted the "trap" style of hockey in New Jersey. The style he now caoches and is enjoyed by Vitamin E and his band of marginal hockey players that stand on their own blue line.
